Why us

Who pays us decides everything.

It is the first question worth asking any car buying service, and the one most of them would rather answer quickly and move on.

The commission problem

Most car buying services, brokers and concierges are free to the customer. They are free because the dealership pays them: a commission, a referral fee, or a spot on a partner network. That payment only arrives once a car is sold.

That is not a scandal. It is just how the model works. But follow it through. If the service is only paid when you buy, then the service needs you to buy. It needs you to buy soon, and it usually needs you to buy from a dealer already inside its network. So your details get passed along, a salesperson calls, and the pressure you were trying to avoid arrives anyway, only now it has been introduced to you by someone you thought was on your side.

What we did instead

We take no money from dealerships. Not a commission, not a referral fee, not a volume bonus. We are not owned by a dealer group and we are not part of anyone else's network. Our fee comes from you, it is agreed before we start, and it does not change based on which car you choose, which dealer supplies it, or how much it costs.

That does two things. It means we can approach any dealer in Australia, because we are not tied to a panel. And it means we can tell you the unprofitable truth: that the deal in front of you is poor, that waiting two months would serve you better, or that the car you already own is fine, without it costing us anything.

Side by side

The same job, two very different incentives.

You choose the car. We deal with the dealership.

How we work

Email and video. No phone calls, by design.

Everything runs through email and scheduled Microsoft Teams meetings. There is no phone number on this site and that is deliberate: it keeps the details of your deal in writing, where you can re-read them, forward them, and hold us to them.

It also means you are never caught off guard by a call at a bad moment, being asked to make a decision on the spot. Every conversation happens at a time you booked.

We work with customers anywhere in Australia. Buyers outside the capital cities often gain the most, because we are not limited to the dealers within driving distance.
